Removeable steering wheel boss

For more than 1 reason i want my steering wheel to be easily removeable.

Can anyone confirm that all i need is a boss similar to this....

I bought one of these cheap ones from eBay for my MK1 Escort project, they were crap. Poor quality, didn't feel secure when locked in place, I just didn't trust it to not break so took it off (plastic pin to lock in place, cheap metal etc)
You can get much better quality ones, you just need to pay the extra for them, ones on eBay for about £80+ seem to be all aluminium etc.
But yes this would fit as the wheel uses standard 6 hole fitment

That was my concern on the cheaper ones thanks.
I will look at the better makes.
Maybe somebody can recommend something of decent quality

You mean you havent mastered steering on the throttle yet Peter?

these are much better, the splines stop play and lock in more securely

same design, expensive, i'm guessing better quality metal but haven't used either so couldn't say for certain?

Both will also move the wheel further towards you so would space be an issue?

The splined one looks much better.
Would i be correct in assuming the boss sits on between the old boss and the steering wheel hence moving the wheel closer to you by the height of the boss?

Ive been very stupid AGAIN!

I have my nice new boss but it doesnt fit.
I didnt realized the Personal steering wheel is 74mm PCD as opposed to 99% of the worlds others such as Momo that are 70mm PCD.

Time for a little rethink
