Light conversion: is it any lighter?

Our Cerb has the MGB style front lights, and I'm trying to justify to myself throwing money at having the later three-unit lightpods fitted, rather than spending it all on Optimax. Or a front end respray...

Has anyone actually weighed the MGB style light cluster? Is the later style any lighter?

Does the upgrade improve night driving?

Don't know if the units are any lighter, but the road ahead certainly is when they're turned on.

Suppose they would be if you can find a set of the pods with the HID option in them.

You can get HID conversions for H4 bulbs (as fitted to the originals...)

But really, its down to looks, if you like the new style, you'll do anything to justify it!
