my offside headlight has a mark in it. It looks like a stone chip, only it looks as though its on the inside

very strange but rubbing your hand over the outside and its as smooth as a babys bum.

Any ideas how much a replacement will set me back? and any ideas how this has happened?!

hey schnozz,

I replaced my bulb a few weeks ago and found a series of not inconsiderable spaces around the rear reflector.

This would give access to the inside of the headlight from behind.

I could imagine that something could find it's way in there at speed...

Mine is fortunately only full of dust.

at speeds of no more than 70mph of course....

how very strange, not seen anything like it before. Ah well, new one will be ordered this week. Can see this being a 2 day job to fit too....

Mine got totally smashed a few months ago - was travelling a bit to close to the car in front, and it flicked up a stone. Totally obliterated my drivers side headlamp - but mananged not to get any glass or stone debris anywhere else on the car.

New headlamp - £30

The Chim was going in to David Batty the following week, so he did the fitting for me. Don't think it took him very long - about an hour?
