Hi,

Thinking about a change of car and wondering wether to sell my 130 for something else.... No other reason than I wouldn't mind a change.

Anybody driven both? If so what are your thoughts? Is the focus better or worse?

Thanks in advance!

Do you mean the Mk1 or Mk2 Focus RS? I've owned both and driven a 130i, albeit in 2006.

Knew somebody with a 135i who was looking at buying a Focus RS when they were just out. He kept the BMW.

The Focus RS is quick enough but apart from the bucket seats, it's pretty unremarkable inside

No bother. I still own a Mk2 (with the Mountune MP350 upgrade) and the 130i has better balance and a nicer interior. People who say the Mk2 RS doesn't torque steer are lying - it does! That said, it's still a great car. Yes, it's FWD, but I'm not sure that really detracts from it in a big way in a lot of situations. The engine is a peach in that it sounds great, is really quite muscular in its delivery even as standard and offers massive scope for tuning.

Give one a drive and see what you think. It'll provide quite a different hot hatch experience to your BMW!
