No recommendations I'm afraid as I am not local enough, but usual rule is pay driver when it is delivered, and you keep it for max one week. Ring them when it is full and they will collect.
Make sure when you book it you tell them whether it will be on your property (drive) or on the road.... If on the highway then you will need to a permit (which the skip hire firm should do for you) but it adds a small extra cost.
Load it sensibly, if you have any scrap timber panels or doors you can use them to build up the sides which mean you can load a bit more in.... But don't go over the top or the driver may refuse to take it if he seems it "overloaded"
Also be prepared for neighbours to use it to dispose of their own stuff without asking you (particularly if it is on the road!) or for the local tarmac laying roofing contracting general workmen to empty it looking for scrap metal. (although when this happened to me, they removed an old washing machine and a rusty scrap door from a ford focus.... And they very thoughtfully reloaded all of the scrap they removed to get to said items.... And loaded it far better than I had originally, leaving me lots more space for more junk!)
Always go for a bigger skip than you think you need (I am rubbish with the size terminology they use for them) but the smallest skips you can get hold sod all!
