Did all the 997 Turbos have VTG or just the Gen 2?

All had VTG, was first introduced on the 997.1 Turbo.

What is so special about the Gen 2 over the Gen 1?

I'd say PDK, PTM and PTV for a start. That and the non-legacy engine :-)

Gen 1 has PTM.

PTV was an option on Gen2 only standard on Turbo S
