Is there such thing as being a drag racing fan now ? theres not exactly a lot that goes on with the sport anymore. I see it more as a club thing now
That’s a very inaccurate opinion on every point if I may say so. And as a fan/spectator of a fair few decades I’m very willing to admit that I still don’t know even the half of what's going on.Its just a personal opinion , it seems the sport over here in the UK is evolved around just two FIA events in the year. And at the national events you barely get half the entries to what you get for the FIA , and yes i mean sportsman. I think the sport itself in the UK was better off when we had a proper national series which was held at both Santa Pod and Avon Park ( the super series ) and each event was very competitive , which had a consistantly good entry of cars in all classes aswell as a very good show for the spectators (look at the entry for the springspeed nationals this weekend , its very poor ) . There is no effort what so ever to get people through the gates for the summer nationals or october nationals or even every national event at Avon Park .
So therefor as a fan perspective there isnt a lot to get excited about and hardly a championship to even follow. Compare Drag Racing with the BTCC , Brisca F1 , Brisca F2 , theres always so much going on and the competition in the racing is unbelievable .

Im on about the hole sport in the UK , top fuel attracts the families and the once a year type person, the sort that go "look at the that one" without knowing anything about the sport as a hole . For me there just isnt enough anymore to justify being called a fan .Edited by Burndown on Tuesday 30th April 18:23
