We've had a bad experience with a local bodyshop whilst getting the OSF wing repainted on our Z4. Basically this guy said he could match the merlot red perfectly, unfortunately the car came back with the wing just about purple. I returned it and to his credit he did a pretty good job second time round, or so I thought until I opened the bonnet to find the engine plastics covered in primer overspray. After going mental at him he did manage to get it all off and things are ok apart from loads of very fine linear scratches where hes obviously wiped the car down without washing it properly first.

Anyway, enough history, I now need to get these fine scratches out but there is no way I'm taking it back to that donkey. The scratches are not much worse than the swirling you get if you aren't careful washing a black car and do disappear for a while when I apply Colinite. I'm looking for a product including some kind of application pad if required that I can apply by hand just to get rid of these scratches and a few other small marks here and there. Any Recomendations?

Sorry to hear of the problems you've suffered from what is an easy job, the best way to removal hazing/maring in paint of this type is to machine polish them out using a foam head and compound it will give you the best and high gloss finish your looking for.

Dodo Lime Prime may help as it can be worked by hand if you do not have access to a machine polisher.

If I had a quid for everytime someone who bought one of those thought that they'd get a perfect finish out of the box I'd be rich. I have one myself they're an ok rotary polisher, but best to practice a lot on a scrap panel first.
