Had a trip to NYC a week ago, was the most amazing time and i'd highly recommend it to anyone.

Some really nice images there. Did they let you take a tripod into Grand Central and up the Rockafella? or were you too fast for them? I have a trip coming up to NYC soon. The one shot I have in my head as a must take is Brooklyn bridge looking back at manhatten by night.
I'm not sure about grand central but at the rockefeller you weren't allowed to put the legs out on your tripod. There's a few ledges you can rest the camera on though, which is what I did. I'd imagine it would be the same for grand central, I used the ledge there as well.Nice work Adam.
Rockerfeller will let you use a gorillapod sized tripod, rest it on the plinth, but keep hold of the camera, gets windy up there!
For Grand Central I went halfway up the stairs at the Apple Store end, put my hand on the ledge to flatten it out and just rested the camera on it and the ledge and held still!, one of those bean bags would be ideal for in there, you could probably use on on the rockerfeller too.

Cheers guys. I have never had much luck trying to balance my camera without trying to use spare change or bits of card to hold the lens up. I have a gorilla pod though so that should work well. Bean bag, I have never heard of bean bags but that sounds brilliant. Something else for the kit bag. It would be great around non camera people to cut down on the nerd factor a bit. Hopefully I cant get something like you two managed.
