Blue Griff 500 for sale - anyone know...

Its based in Marlborough area. 94 Griff 500, 28k mls. Light blue with dark blue roof & interior. Chap has spent £4k recently getting it serviced and replacing brakes, bushes, engine mounts & gaskets at Thames Valley Racing. Has full TVRSH and was bought from Midlands previously. 4 owners. Had new nose cone in 2000.

I confess ()I've been looking at Chims, but this has come up at a v. competitive price....and its fairly local....

Reg. is B** SMA.

Anyone know anything??

don't know the car...

new nose means f/end prang!!!

28K is a low mileage, around 3k p.a, so its spent lots of time locked up and seizing up!

could be that the £4k has scared the guy and he's bailing out.

car of that age, check...

CHASSIS!! (particularly behind front wheels/outrigger lift points)
tyre wear
hoses
front wishbones (not too expensive)
ALL electrics
tappy engine...general engine bay condition.

phone the old dealer and check it out (in service book)

Checked with Thames valley racing who reckon its a good'un. yes it has been laid up a bit which concerned me but it seems has had stuff done that needed doing.

I thought same about nose cone....

Haven't heard from seller 2nite so maybe its gone...btw he's bailing out cos of divorce....

You could try Rob Ingleby. I've never used him but a lot of TVR owners seriously rate him.

My advice is spend a good three to six months looking. Eventually the car will choose you - you'll know what I mean when it happens!

Get it checked on HPI - it may be an ex write-off.If it is, and everythings been fixed well it may still be worth buying, but at a seriously reduced price. Remember that when you come to sell it, your buyer will probably get it checked out.
