Sorry if this comes up a lot here, but we all know how pants ph search function is..

After just 3 miles yesterday, my gooch was in agony. I haven't cycled for a while, so I know I need to adjust a bit, but this was more than simply adjusting.

So the bike is just a cheapo mountain bike, mainly ridden on road. Bike is worth next to nothing, so don't want to double its value by fitting an expensive saddle.

I've people say finding one that feels comfortable is a personal thing, but I dont know where to start! Its not really worth my time or money trying lots of different ones.. So whats a good safe bet?

Charge Spoon is the PH favorite, you can get them from around £15 to £20.

Charge Spoon. If you shop around you should find one for less than £20 delivered.

Another vote for the Charge Spoon. Yet to hear of anyone who doesn't rate it.

However, saddle set up is just as important - try minutely adjusting the position fore/aft and the angle up/down, to see if that makes a difference.

+1

In my experience the saddle that comes on the bike is often too soft - that leads to discomfort as the padding collapses over time.

Ditto set up - the bit you sit on should generally be level, and landing on your sit bones. Spend a bit on the padded shorts too, money very well invested smile
