The filter on my 450 is the foam style but all grey/black and rather old were these made by pippercross or some one else?

Also I see the pippercross ones listed on the tvr parts sites have a red band do these flow more than the original ones fitted. I see there is also K&N but I prefer the foam style as there easier to clean.

All grey and black are an aftermarket copy of the pipercross.Do not be put off by this they are an excellent filter, and a lot less expensive so you can change them more often if you want to that is, instead of just cleaning them.
Plenty of places stock them heres a link to one:

i am looking to replace my air filter, i have a K&N one fitted and a least with the one on my car you have to squash/coerced a fair bit to get in trough the grill(face lift model) so am looking to replace it with a foam one.
One thing to find out before ordering is if the filter comes pre oiled, or the a with a can of oil as my understanding is they need to be oiled.
you can see the can of oil in the ATC photo, ATC pipercross

I got my foam filter from TVR Power, this is a Piper Cross filter and was pre-oiled.

Hmm nice water trap, why not just fit one k&n that flows to 550 up out of the way of the water, even fits in the stock position

Daz, It doesn't look to me like that set-up you have would fit behind the splitter on the face lift cars....

I can push it back and change the angle ,can`t see much water getting by the pre facelift grill.

MADMAX ,its just a standard K&N from ACT. shorter but wider would be better ,leaves more room for adjustment.
