Satnav with Bluetooth TomTom or Garmin

Hi, Against all advice, Mrs Flat6er has traded her well speced 1 series against a poverty spec 1 series cab. She loves it except for options that she took for granted on the old car.
Now I am tasked with finding her a satnav and bluetooth solution.
Well both Garmin and Tomtom seem to have bluetooth capability, and we are leaning towards the TomTom Go Live series, but.
has anyone got any experience of using the hands free / Bluetooth functionality of these units?
Can you talk and Map at the same time? Is the sound any good?
