Dear all,

Has anyone esle heard the news that the challenge has been postponed for at least '6 to 8 weeks'?

I was told this afternoon (the challenge is supposed to run wednesday morning)... I have had to cancel a hotel and my sponsors are none too happy.

What does everyone else think?

Did they explain the circumstances?

Well yes, apparently there have been 'safety issues' with the car. But we also have been told that they have had difficulty getting liability insurance. And they possibly want to reschedule it for outside the UK.

Whatever, it is inexcusable that they leave us with this late notice, hotels and time off work has been booked, the sun and mirror were coming, as were the sponsors, and we had to inform them. It has beeen embarrasing for all concerned.

Quite frankly we have become a little tired of the messing about.

We just wondered what the other people who were down to do the challenge thought about this, and what excuses have been given to them.

Thanks

Leean

Is this the attempt organised by Record Breaker?

If so, some concerns have been raised by other PHers involved with them in this thread.

It does sound inexcusably poor.

(That was restrained, wasn't it)

The comments on the other thread are worrying - the worst part must be working hard to raise corporate sponsors then letting them down.

Hi Leean,

I've sent you an email.
If we pull out now, would we be able to have the sponsorship and administration money refunded??

Hi Leean,

I've posted about this before, very bad luck, how bl00dy annoying. I was the first to sign up for the challenge but pulled out for the reasons I outlined in the other thread amongst others.
I was being asked to do photoshoots 200 miles away with a days notice then things changed with hours notice & I got fed up with it & do sympathise. It must be pretty frustrating having gone as far down the line as you have.

Have sent you a mail on another issue.

Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Was just passed this link

I'm sure there's a few who could help Watchdog out.
