Removing stuck seatposts - a tip

Whilst I found one tip that helped a great deal to take the carbon post out of my alu frame, that being to steadily pour a kettle of boiling water over the seat tube to get it very hot (not a trickle that cools too much nor a deluge where the metal doesn't get chance to warm) many on the web seem to advocate fitting a 'sacrificial saddle' to the post to apply force and twist it out.

A far better solution, of my own making I am proud to add, is to get a really long screwdriver and clamp it in as if it were one of the saddle rails at the tip end. This then gives you a nice long lever and is far less faff. If needed, you could clamp a second one in the other rail holder and push both, but I could get plenty of force with just the one.
