Considering that the Rt Hon the Lord Heseltine is the Chairman of the Haymarket Group and Rupert Heseltine is the Deputy Chairman, in the light of the frankly disgraceful comments in the thread about the late Lady Thatcher - should this thread not be closed?

No, just delete/censor any dodgy comments. Why on earth pull the thread?

Nope.
I've unsubscribed from the thread last night because I don't like the direction it's taken. Doesn't mean it should be closed to all.

I like to think that she would have loved it as apparently she loved a good argument/debate. I also like the thought that the scum that are taking pleasure in an 87 year old ladies demise are actually doing something she would have loved.

It is quite a fitting tribute that the left have taken over the internet just for her.biggrin

Thatcher blamed Heseltine to some extent for her political demise, didn't she? wink

There's absolutely no agenda setting from our Chairman (Rupert) or Group Board Chairman (Michael) on stuff like this, so we'd never dream of closing the thread for any other reason than that it has gone irretrievably out of control. Not sure we're anywhere near that yet...

At a stroke. Of that I've no doubt. Wouldn't need a motion of no confidence either. The rather obvious difference is that in this situation he already has the big job... biggrin

I think if he did the board might remove him, and then the thread undeleted.

I thought we didn't discuss moderation in this forum? Rule 12, etc.

Please ban yourself for 7 days from this post.

I can't do that. Crosses the streams. Alarms go off, emergency exits close, etc etc.

I thought PH towers was a constant cacophony of alarms from downed proxies and Cockwomble invasions anyway? And as for exits - there is no escape...

I thought a mod once banned himself as a joke, then had to get another mod to unban him?
