Pics of vixens with mini lights
Discussion
Guys.
I am measuring up for new wheels for dads car. We are going to go 16 x 8 rear and I am debating whether 6j or 7 j will go up front.
If someone has 6j minilite type wheels could they measure the backspacing (rear hub face to rear rim edge and also rear hub face to front rim edge. This would be a big help with my measuring.
I had a set on a vixen many moons ago but haven't got the offset measurements to hand
Has anyone fittted 7J wheels to the front of their vixen??
Also gratuitous vixen alloy wheel shots always a pleasure to view..

Won't that all depend upon the ET of the wheels
And I thought I was going to see a picture of a Vixen with Mini tail lights!

All snow gone yet ??
Vixen in progress has the same 3 piece Revo`s as on previous yellow Vixen.
I was on 15" but went mid way 6.5" with no bother.
2" outer, wheel centre 0.5" & a 4" inner. 195 or 205 tyres could be used
Cheers. Ian
Having seen the 3 piece Revo's on your old yellow Vixen, I quite fancied a set for my '73 M. Revolution told me that they were now discontinued (apart from the smaller Mini fitment) so I decided on the Revo 5 spokes - black spokes, polished rim and probably better suited to the M design anyway. I managed to source 1 new wheel in 7x15" size, correct PCD and advertised as -3mm offset. I bought just the 1 wheel (at fairly low cost) to trial fit before shelling out for a set of 4 and I'm glad I did. The offset is actually +10mm, so it sits too far under the arch, the size cast on the inside of the wheel reads 6x15", but it measures 7" wide as advertised, just to confuse matters. Could you tell me the mm offset for your Revo's? And apologies - this has little to do with Minilites! All snow gone yet ??

Cheers Ian.
Minilite are doing nice 16 inch one piece wheels now. Going for an 8j at rear under the wide arches with approx 97mm backspacing measurement, still plenty of room to the outer arch, so if I need to tweak I can use a small spacer.
Fronts...not sure what ET's are available. 6.5 sounds like a good compromise...a zero offset 8j actually fits the front without fouling but sticks out of the std bonnet line somewhat...I also don't want steering too heavy for dad.
Its coming together...
Did you blob on Essen then??

Neil
I can't provide gratuitous Vixen shots but I assume my Grantura 1800S is the same body so here are a few gratuitous shots of that. Rims are 6" front and rear 15" Compomotive MLs with special offset. I can measure tomorrow if you want.
First as it arrived on Yokos which IIRC were 195/55/15.

About 18 months, 800 hours and >£20k later, it doesn't really look any different externally. At the 2011 Spa 6 Hours, this time on 185/70/15 Avon ZZs

The red Voyazides Scuderia Filipinetti GT40 is lapping us but I'm genuinely ahead of the other three

Your "other" grantura is / was fitted with my old Comp ML's Richard... I do know that they were a TR6 fitment which compomotive sell as same as TVR fitment, I can't provide gratuitous Vixen shots but I assume my Grantura 1800S is the same body so here are a few gratuitous shots of that. I think on a std rear the rears like a 97mm back spacing to miss the bottom pins, I was just looking for the overall wheel dims on a 6j as opposed to an 8j which I have..As ever Gratuitous shots of pre 80 TVR's always enjoyed

The fronts may have to be 7j so I will be looking to fit the deepest back spacing of 117.5 so long as everything clears....112m backset wheels fit so we should be ok.
This is what comes of fitting flares at the rear of vixens...in my defence though the car originally had been rear ended and needed new rears grafted on..
