Final Spec C63

The time has come to stop changing my mind very soon and commit to the spec of my C63 Estate - where I am so far is Tenorite Grey, Black/Red interior, Black ash, 19's, HK stereo & DAB.

I decided not to go for Privacy Glass and change the Black leather for Black & Red - still haven't seen a car with that interior, so maybe taking a big Risk, as the red look fairly bright in the pics I have seen.

Thoughts on interior and spec?

I have all red in my Coupe. I was a bit worried it would be too bright as well but it's not. It's actually darker than I thought it would be, I wouldn't say maroon but not lipstick red either.

Colours are purely subjective....but consider this.....if you think you are taking a risk then you probably are.....resale prices of cars with "distinctive" colours or interiors are generally lower as the target market when it comes to sell the car is narrower....black leather might be boring but it wont detract from the fun you will have in your car

If its a lease car then go for whatever you like as the resale value is not your problem....

I would seriously reconsider the privacy glass. Oh, and no LSD (if you like sideways action)?

there are virtually no c63's in exciting colours at all. my friends dad has a red estate as pictured on our website... i admire his dad, bought it in a fun colour just for a change. Who cares about residual... as long as you sell it in good condition with history and not in a wild green or matt paint job then i cant see you losing much on value.

Ghibbett - thanks for our Reply. Why do you say that about the Privacy Glass?

Apart from the benefits of limiting visibility into the cabin and helping to keep the cabin cooler on sunny days, it also makes the car look more complete IMO.

For reference, I am normally against 'tints' as they can make cars look very van-like, however it really just works on the C63 Estate. I regularly see another C Estate without the privacy glass, and it just looks wanting. All IMO of course.

I think the privacy glass looks great on your car btw - just not sure about it for 3 reasons on a Dark Grey or Black car...

- I don't want it to look like a Hearse
- Won't it be very dark in the car - how easy is it to see out of the rear?
- I thought it might look too pimped

That's fair enough, although the other C Estate that I reguarly see is black and I think it looks cheaper without the privacy glass, IMO.

That seems much more a problem on the older E class Estates for some reason.

That is a very valid point. Not a problem for normal driving, but over-the-shoulder reversing will be affected.

Great spec. I've ordered an E63 in tenorite grey, black interior, and the only extra is reversing camera. Wheels are 19s as standard.

Hopefully this pic will help you. Magnetite Black with privacy glass. In my opinion it makes the car look sleeker. As you may just about be able to tell, I've gone for the two tone leather black & porcelain which with the sun roof lets loads of light into the cabin making it feel really airy. Also I think the privacy glass is good for the little extra security it adds from "passers by". Good luck with your final decisions!

Obviously I know why they do it, but with the clear front windows privacy glass just looks messy and unfinished to me.

As to privacy, what are you hiding and from whom? You'd be pretty daft to leave expensive cameras or whatever on show either with or without, and if you're not, what does it matter?

OP - go with whatever you feel is right for you. Privacy glass, just like paint colour, are extremely subjective. Either way you're getting an ace car

Apart from the fact that it's illegal to have heavily tinted windows on the front (as eluded to), personally I think it would look more like a pimp mobile if it were tinted all the way - clearly everyone's preferences are different, hence the various options to choose from! Whatever you choose you'll enjoy the car though, they're awesome fun.

Now that looks very nice indeed, perfect combination! I may be slightly biased though as my Coupe arrives at the beginning of May with just that spec so thank you for putting up a photo.
