Fitted a new washer bottle this afternoon, smaller than the original to make more room for oil catch tank on the same section of bulkhead.

Anyway, while trying to fit the 24 year old tubing to the new pump I realised that it wasn't going to work as the old stuff was way to stiff/brittle so thought I'd change it and use the nice new stuff that came with the kit.

Promptly managed to break off the bottom of the washer jet fitting so now I need a new one, so who is going to have one of these??

Plenty to choose form here

http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/search,b.html?q=washer+...

As another option, many people have converted to the washer on the wiper blade.

And the moral of the tale – if it aint broke – don’t fix it smile

Anything like this ?

Good luck getting at the securing nut wink

When mine had a "bit of bodywork" I filled the central hole and fitted two single jets, access if required, is a little easier (also have smaller "Tudor" wash bottle to give room for catch tank.

Thanks guys, should have looked at CBS first I suppose, that's where the washer bottle kit came from, no problem getting at the lock nut, no dashboard !!

I have had a couple of subaru legacy's (04 and 06) and amongst other things I liked the screenwash nozzles were brilliant - they put a fine mist over the entire screen that cleaned really well and hardly used a drop of screenwash. I hardly ever topped it up.
Better still they were mounted underneath the bonnet edge so potentially could work on an S if you can be arsed with the tubing changes.

I had to do this on my car, piece of cake really, pop to Halfords and get a new jet (£2.99 from memory), remove glove box (2 bolts) and then thread your arm through to the bottom of the old jet, this bit is the trickiest bit of the whole job as you need thin arms and a small stubby spanner firmly grasped as you proceed to remove skin/hairs from your forearm, don't forget to put the new locating nut over the washer pipe and then poke the pipe up through the hole and put it on the nozzle and then just pop it all back, job's a fish biggrin

Trouble is on S3/S4/V8S you can't get to the back of the nozzle without removing the dash and the skin of most of your knuckles eek

You can't get to it via the glovebox route, well you could almost touch it but as for getting a nut on the back forget it.

It is fiddly but only took me about 30 mins to do in total. Dash stays in place and you can get to it through the glovebox route (unless my S3c was different to the others) if you're any where near Derby I'll do it for you.

V8S is long gone now :-(

On s3 which side are the heater matrix pipes?

They are passenger side on V8S and IIRC that was the issue going via glovebox.

Granted, the V8s may well be different Chris.
