Bugger! I've managed to buckle a front wheel on my 4 litre Chimaera.

Garage says 15" 4-stud Chimaera wheels are no longer available. They're suggesting that I get a couple of rears, i.e. 16", and put them on the front, so I'll have 16s all round.

I've posted an ad in the classifieds to see if anyone has a wheel for sale, but given Thirsty's apparent lack of success, I may need to do as the garage suggests.

Question is, does it seem a reasonable thing to do? I have 225/50/16 on the back and the fronts were 205/55/15. Should I therefore be looking at 205/50/16 on the front now? Will a 205 fit a 16" wheel?

Lots of questions, I'm afraid. Obviously, my ideal resolution would be a replacement 15" wheel, but failing that, your advice will be much appreciated.

why don't you try getting a second hand 15inch wheel.
Douglas valley breakers break tvr and may have an odd wheel lying around, they did when I wanted a 16inch rear 500 wheel. They normally want good money for what they sell but they may be able to help you
can help you with contact details if you want

Alex,

Life saver!!!

Found their contact details on the web. The guy went out into the yard, located a wheel, emailed me a photo and I've ordered it. Will be with me Mon/Tue next week. Top service.

Very many thanks for posting - I wasn't overly keen on the 16" front idea, but it would have been better than nothing.

The joy of PistonHeads!

Regards,

Paul.

PS - What a business to be in, though. Their website is really quite depressing!

Damn !!! I hate it when that happens !

I damaged my front left wishbone when I had my incident. You should probably have yours checked as well if it was a hard impact.

Yes.. I'm still looking for a front wheel. (and a rear one too)Haven't found one yet. SHG told me rear one's are not available anymore either.

Right now I have two loaner wheels. I'm still kicking around the idea of getting a set of Griff wheels. SHG tells me they are still available.

Thirsty,

Would suggest posting on the "Wanted" section of this site.

I've had two replies already and I only stuck the ad on last night!

Cheers,

Paul.

PS - Thanks to those who have replied. Very much appreciated. I will remove the ad when I get home tonight - can't do it from work, because the email address is different - sorry!
