Can anyone recommend an auto electrician, as ive got some gremlins ! im in the north essex/suffolk area, any help would be appreciated.

Just need someone to go throught the eletrics as battery not charging(yup checked alternator), dash lights flickering, could be a bad earth or something more serious.

cheers.

ISTR some alternators don't charge if the warning light isn't connected - that would be the first thing I would check (I.e. the light lights up when the engine isn't running, and turns off when it is)

I would guess you have identified the problem there. If the dash lights flicker, then it's likely a dirty loose earth which may well be the cause of the non charging alternator as it needs the warning light connected properly.
