Included in a little rambling email from my wife this morning was this little gem "Your car went for a skid at hobgoblin junction this morning when I pulled out too quick – LOL." At least she is using it as it was designed to be used I suppose whilst I trundle around in the family wagon...

That sounds like the way most news reporters cover accidents "the car went out of control" etc.

Ha, they're great at describing things aren't they. Sounds like she's enjoying it.

I got a message from my wife the other week after she drove to work in the snow.

"I've just gone to turn into the carpark and my brake pedal started banging when I pressed it, could you have done something to it when you borrowed the car?".

Me - "That's your abs kicking in which means you're skidding and not in control of the car".

silly

She hated it when I first got it - gen 2 Cayman, not sure if I have updated my profile yet - first time she borrowed it she left it in a car park whilst she went out with friends. Early next morning call from police asking if I want to prosecute the guy who was seen kicking cars in the car park including mine. I'd only had it a few days, fortunately there was just the slightest scuff mark on it which polished out. Second time she drove it she got a chip in the windscreen, I got a dose of the mental for that one despite shrugging it off as one of those things.

Now she's used to it she loves it, as witnessed above rolleyes

I looked at the OP's profile and assumed his missus was driving to work in a Radical SR4...

I bought the other half a snotter when she got a new job - she loves it. A 2004 Toyota Corolla - hasn't put a foot wrong. Just checked BBC News. Seems it's probably subject to this new recall re: airbags, which will probably see my P&J being used to commute for a while. Bloody Japanese build quality...

We decided to take the RS to the pub a while back. Best laid plans was a nice meal (pizza in the Bulls Head, Repton. If anyone knows it) and drive home. Being a bloke I got carried away and had 6 pints. (Im sure she was forcing them down me) Meaning the misses had to drive.

I can confirm, It soon sobers you up when you look across at the temp gauge and its ready 3 degrees. and she's not exactly hanging around biggrin

Yep. Detected some frustration at the other end of the line when saying we had no reason to prosecute, they had the guy sobering up in the cell but nobody in a position to help them nick him.

Must update that, been through a few motors since then. Keeping the option of a snotter up my sleeve if she misbehaves in the Cayman, got a few too many toys to justify another car from the outset though.

My favourite message from my wife was:

"Hiya - just to let you know that I kissed whiskers with a van on the way up the hill. xx"

Translation when I got home: I demolished one of the wing mirrors on the Cayenne which is now hanging off the car by a single wire

I can laugh about it now.

Cheers

Nicely put. Looking at your profile, you like a Porsche or two then?

'Body coloured ears', was how the wife described the wing mirrors on the 'Want' spec of her new car.

Last night mine was going out to a meeting at the rugby club.

She shouted back to me as leaving through the back door "I'm taking your car and I'm going to drive it like I stole it, Goodbye!"

Good girl, she sounds like a keeper. I can think of a damned good response to her too...
