Part of me thinks its about time, another part of me thinks I'll miss the Saturday night/Monday morning debates about the weekends talking points.

Any views guys?

As you say I'll miss the discussions and rows about it but good for the game I reckon, always be the correct decision now.

Isn't it just for the goal line though? So we'll still be able to debate decisions. This is great news.

Yup, goal line. So, we can still argue about the offside leading up to it, or the foul, or the penalty decision! You would think with hawkeye and its rival it would be able to say if someone was offside, or interfering in play?

That'll come in soon I'm sure, who needs a ref?

Well, there will still be one, but no need for him to be on the field. He can watch on a variety of monitors, deciding if something is a foul, penalty, yellow card, or red.

The BBC article refers to the Ukraine goal that was disallowed. It fails to mention that the Ukraine chaps had an offside ignored, if memory serves, before the goal attempt?

Can anyone tell me why a goal being disallowed when over the line or being given when not over the line is a worse injustice that a goal being scored off a corner that was a goal kick or a a goal from a throw given the wrong way or scoring from a dodgy pen or when offside or handled in by a sly attacker or any other wrong decision that leads to an unfair goal.

That's fking football. It's not fair, sometimes you don't get what you deserve, sometimes you get more than you deserve, and I love it.

fk off with your microchips and technology, and leave me and my unfair, controversial, frustratingly fantastic game alone.

We`ve already got something on the pitch that tells you we haven`t scored.

It isn't a greater injustice but it is an error that can easily be prevented at the top level through the use of technology.

Other wrong decisions are not so easy to prevent.

Why is it a greater injustice at the top level than a lower level? Why is everybody so obssessed with getting the decision right anyway? Lampard's "goal" against Germany gives deluded England fans something to cling onto, thinking that going in 2-2 at half time would have changed the game. So it's a good thing. They can kid themselves the ref cheated us out of world cup glory, when the truth is they would have thrashed us regardless, because they were 10 times better than we are.

Bad reffing decisions are the saviour of supporters of mediocre teams everywhere.

You think they should take away Hawkeye from tennis, rugby, cricket etc too?

Hawkeye makes the game more fair. I agree with your point about mediocre teams relying on a bit of luck and know it would be boring if the better team won every time.

It's going to so rare that they have a situation that calls for Hawkeye in football that the difference it makes will be negligible (but could change history eg cup finals).
