Any good road routes in North Wales?

My mate and I are going for a spin in NW on sat morning, just trying to plan the route... looking at parking near llandegla and going over the horshoe pass, llangollen, along A5 to Corwen and then back along A 5104.

Looking for a good route 30-40 miles with good Hills, I'm a little worried about the A5 as a its a busy NSL, anyone got any better suggestions.
