So Caro Emerald; what am I missing?

To these ears, she sounds like a second rate Bette Midler impersonator backed by the band from that shabby 'burlesque' show at the darker end of the Reeperbahn with a break beat and some digital 'scratching' thrown on...also, why are licence fees being spent on a whole day's promoting a commercial artist who appears to be making plenty of money, who isn't even British? #wylieyousycophant!

They have artists in quite often don't they? I think I unfortunately caught some of the same thing with Robbie Williams a few months back, I believe they see it as getting their money's worth out of the artist rather than the reverse.
She's not too bad and fairly original, but I quickly got bored of her first album.

I went to see her live, quite enjoyable, but that second album's going to be a difficult one.

What are you missing? Probably the same thing I miss about Pink Floyd, 50 Cent or Kate Bush - She's just not to your taste.

As you say, but if it was 'ground breaking' it wouldn't be on Radio 2 would it?

About 80% of the audience when I saw her live was over 50 I'd say with a few younger people around. Everyone seemed to have a good time - I saw a few people dancing down the street after, which I see as a good measure of the amount of fun people have at a gig - Maybe not if you go to see Leonard Cohen, but one like this.

More fun to listen to than Adele, I'd say.

I've been playing with Caro in the late 90s. Trust me, the girl can sing a song.

In the end of the day one needs to get on with life and earn a solid buck.

About 4 years ago she made her transition.

Well, I think she's bloody brilliant. I'm seeing her in London later this year.

But I love the whole retro Electro-Swing vibe.

That's the thing about music though. Something for everyone; if you don't like her then plenty of other stuff to listen to. And if you do, then yay. *shrugs*

Unchallenging pop swing jazz schtick. She's not exactly inaccessible & so mops up the demographic that more or less takes the path of least resistance but considers itself above the X factor. I doubt she'll be remembered much in fifty years time.

It's ok if you like that sort of thing, but hardly interesting music.
