thyroid issues

Had blood tests done as a normal standard spec check up at the doctors.

Bloods came back fine apart from a "difference in the thyroid results" (doctors exact words).

Apparently the test for the thyroid revealed some difference from the norm - so i was told to come back and repeat the blood test in 6 months time (this been about 2 months ago.

Feeling a little prone to tiredness lately which apparently is a big symptom of thyroid issues.

So would appreciate some PH education on the whole thyroid thing - apparently if the test shows up the same again - i will have to go on tablets or something.

If i go on the tablets etc after a visit to the doctor - am i likely to have any additional issues in the long term assuming the tablets actually work.

You might have to go on Thyroxine, I'm on it for life as I had my thyroid removed a couple of years ago.
Apparently thyroxine replaces the stuff that the thyroid is'nt producing properly.
It is a bit of a nightmare getting the doseage correct, I'm still not right after a couple of years taking it.
Sometimes I feel tired for no reason, but all part of the dodgy thyroid thing I'm afraid.

I think Thyroxine was the type of tablets mentioned by the doctor when she was telling me about the "difference" in the results for the thyroid test.

Time will tell no doubt in terms of whether i will need the tablets or not.

Hopefully they will get your doseage sorted
