"Emergency" Deep Fat Fryer
Discussion
Where is a good place to get a cheap deep fat fryer tomorrow? I need it tomorrow (well today, given it's 1am) and I do not really care if it falls apart by the weekend. Higher capacity per pound the better (i.e. unless you are directing me to a big tub I will probably need to buy at least three of them) if ya get my meaning.
Oh also I am in a weird bit of Scotland so nothing too exotic please, if anyone knows someone like asda or argos are doing this kinda thing that'd be great.
Thanks so much for your help, and may you have battered mars bars in your veins for the rest of your (terminated by clogged arteries) life

I dare say that without going to a decent supplier you're going to end up at Tesco/Asda/Argos in the morning buying two or three of their cheapest.Oh also I am in a weird bit of Scotland so nothing too exotic please, if anyone knows someone like asda or argos are doing this kinda thing that'd be great.

Alternatively, have a look in those stores for the largest stainless steel pan they have, and buy a 'spider' ( http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thum... ), fill with oil and use that?
When you say big I'm not sure how big you're wanting. How many litres capacity?
Try Argos for one of these http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4...
Surprisingly decent for the price.

Got one of these recently and it does the job just fine. A bargain too:

Thanks for everyone's help, but ASDA turned out to be the cheapest. Interestingly there is an undocumented feature in the snappily named "XJ-9K111" Deep Fat Fryer - if you are cunning enough you can actually wash everything that comes into contact with food in the dishwasher. I'd better not go into too much detail lest I be sued... but know that the supposedly fixed pot can be twisted and tugged at...
