Hi Alun450, the med sun is great for the chims, but some times it gets unbearable, through the mountains and the long roads it is great but when you hit the towns on weekends and holiday times you find yourself sitting for 1 hour in traffic with 40°C + plus the heat of the engine and fans for cooling, it’s no joke, plus you need to find somewhere with shade to park or the seats and interior just burn up..
The blast up the mountains I did with Dave (ChimpOnGas) a few years ago was really great, once we had left Nice and started to see open roads the heat just didn’t matter, stopping along the route for a beer helped, really miss those sorts of days…
Blue sky, sunny, 21°C here today, tomorrow will be warmer so off for a blast, maybe drive to DIGNE through the mountains. Find a little restaurant and sit on the terrace, thinking that I have to go to work the next day..

Hi Phazed I agree with you on the UK roads, I worked a national role and just getting to customers was a nightmare, here in France roads are clear, because it costs a fortune to travel the motorways, my old place it cost me £1000 per year to use the motorway to go to work, think I prefer to have road tax.
On long drives 3 or 4 hrs, dehydration is the bandit, driving in the sun you seat like a pig but as you’re moving the effect is not felt until the headache arrives, now I push my self to drink 1 litre every hour as a minimum ‘pee like a horse mind you’I was passing St Tropez last year to get back to my camping site and got stuck in traffic for 40minuets getting sunburnt, 45°C, plus heat from the car, if there was a problem could have easily dropped into a mild form of road rage, it was horrible….
