Hi all

I don't suppose anyone knows of someone with such a kit in decent nick who is about to sell, or a trader who has a kit?

Absolutely nothing out there - typical as I saw a few when I wasn't ready to buy.

Any info appreciated! smile

Cheers

Specifying which car you have would help - I take it it's for the Mk1 listed in your profile?

I'll just add that i have found a brand new, boxed JR M42,intercooler, high flow fuel pump and timing box kit but its not cheap @2.5k (bloke paid over 3.2k and then sat on it). Due to a lack of options unless something comes up today i think i am going to bite the bullet and go for it as i am hell bent on getting it sorted for my trip to le mans in june smile

Not sure but expecting another grand on top to be honest. Seems madness but my cars a known quantity and don't intend on selling any time soon.

Mini Charger off eBay, full kit of brackets off TR lane, engine management to your preference? Paying upwards of £3k seems barmy to me!?

I fully aware mate smile I'm lacking any real time to invest getting it done or trying to cobble together a kit and then any subsequent parts that are missing mid-build so looking for an easy but solid way to get it done quickly before mid june. A full JR kit would take any worries away plus to a certain extent the finish shouldn't be too DIY... smile

Ok still looking for a kit - I decided not to go for it as I kept thinking about how much more I could possibly get for my money if I was patient!

Any leads great fully received smile

Buying a kit off cardo and adding an intercooler, revised belt tensioner from moss and a megasquirt ECU!

Booked into skuzzle motorsport in may to get this lot fitted plus a LSD lol biggrin hoping for around 180bhp at the wheels but we will see.

Any recommendations on insurers? biggrin

I got my MX5 insured with Greenlight this week as they gave a discount for being a member of mx5nutz and also with my policy they let me do any modifications for free, as long as the car stays under 180BHP.

Insurance prices can be really random though as people can swear blind about some companies the cheapest but I get much higher quotes. It's worth phoning around a few to get quotes.

Looks like i'll have to do this the hard way and ring around as you say - the slippery slope has started and i've ordered enough toys today to make near on 200BHP.... lol

Short of taking the engine out of the car and putting it on bench dyno, there's a certain amount of guess work in working out how much power your engine is putting out.

I'm sure if you have a quiet word with a friendly dyno operator they could get you a print out that shows your car at 179 bhp regardless of the upgrades.
