Whilst sat in the car today, I couldn't help thinking how rubbish the quality of these is.

I've got a 2010 DBS and everything is finished to such a high standard, it's almost as if they got to the end of the production line and realised that they'd forgotten them......... Luckily there was a Bedford van outside so they used the ones out of that.

Does anyone know where you can get pimped ones from?

I've just had a quick look at the Sarah Maynard site and she seems to only do the tips of the stalks, not the stalks themselves.

And you can only seem to buy them as part of a kit consisting of stereo and heater knobs. And on top of all that, they will cost you several hundred quid. eek

Had a look at those and they don't really look that good.
Even with the indicator capping, you've still got a crappy looking
lever.

Stupid money as well.

The "Ultimate" gear knob looks like it's been copied from a 1950's Morris Minor and it's made out of polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride !

And it's almost one thousand of your British Pounds if you please !! fk right off.

Alright, I understand your remarks re Emperor's Bew Clothes
but the fact remains that the car is just so well finished
that someone really should have put some decent switchgear
In there.

As my friend said, " it's the best looking car I've ever seen"!

So why balls it up at the end?

No I agree on the switches - just thought the web site was taking the proverbial with it's pricing. If you are going to spend that sort of money you need the whole stalk replaced. Can you think of a car with a stalk of sufficient quality though - not sure I can ?

I'm surprised there has not been an aftermarket solution for this - if AM owners can come up with carbon fibre EMU's and fancy nobs, how hard could a nice brushed steel stalk be?

Even the One 77 has them IIRC !

I think the Sarah Maynard stalk ends look awful. Too large for the rest of the stalk which makes them look like a huge afterthought instead of blending in....

What car actually has nice indicator stalks? Could they be fitted somehow perhaps....

There's an idea - anybody got a picture of a One-77 stalk ?

Just looking at the 77 picture - does anyone know if the polished chrome dials for the heater controls and radio are available after market - they look like the same size as the std equipment on the Vantage. Would be a nice and simple upgrade to the slope. Same question for the seat adjustment buttons.

If TVR could and of course DID, create custom bespoke switch gear from across the road to the local tip, then I'm sure a company like Aston could also create custom bespoke switch gear.

On my factory visit last year I openly stated my disappointment at the stalks being off the shelf Ford stock and how obvious it was. The guy really did seem shocked that I had picked at something.

Especially when seen in the Dragon 88 car. Lush interior and plastic Ford stalks!

The tooling will be the prohibitive cost, but then when people are paying this much for cars and especially the One-77, tooling cost becomes a mute point surely.

Not to mention the thousands of aftermarket pairs they could sell.
