Ladies, gentlemen, how can I adjust the doors of the Chimaera, they are touching the doorsills damaging the paint, and how do I remove the carpet/leather on the door, is it clipped or screwed/bolted.

There's your screws for the carpet

And that's how you get to the 3 10mm nuts that hold the trim on
1 is forward of the speaker hole no2 is about 10" towards the back No 3 is another 6-8" back from that
Have fun

It might be a good idea to replace the 10mm nuts with 10mm wing nuts for easy removal next time!! idea

Sounds like you need another person or packers holding it up as you adjust, do you do it with the door open, can you make a mark on bracket or so to give you a reference Daz, I'm just thinking aloud as Ive never done it.

Even though my car must be built late in the production run the passenger door has a naff line along the bottom, doors straight the line it's running on isn't! I've seen loads of Chims with a similar issue! If the door is squere in the opening it won't have a good line along the bottom straight edge!

Ironically I've looked at lots of modern prod cars, even the good ones, Many have less than perfect lines!

It only bothers now I'm talking about it, lol.

Any info regards this thread is very much appreciated, I've wanted to get them straight on mine, on at least one line for awhile now. Keep us posted chaps.

It`s a black art ! Mine was slightly low but did not catch ,it probably came out the factory that way ..One evening after 4 cans of stella I felt brave so I went down the garage and started undoing the nuts confused since then it`s been all down hill .

Beer for a job like that, pain killers maybe, lol.

After my re build it didn't seem quite right, do you use the screw on type water butt? Dom drained it, filled it again slowly then ran the engine for like an 40 mins! Engine temps fab, heater burns your nose hair!

I def had air I heard it gurgle once whilst driving. Needless to say it hasn't done it since, long live Dom, lol lol lol lol.

If the car was ok before hand then it can't be much now hopefully! Come on Daz turn up at Marham. I'd like to meet you and see your funkie car, air filters a must. Lol

Having just done both doors for my rebuild i can say with some conviction not a job for one the problem using packers is the door needs to be shut so getting at the bolts to tighten them is nigh on impossible with seats out just about but get a mate to hold the door end whilst nipping up the bolts is the way to go,mark the hinge on the outside with a nobo board marker which will come of later so you can see the movment you only need to nip one bolt per hinge and try the door preferably with the trim to the rear removed makes it much easier and so and so on till its right.

Crickey for once I was in the right direction! I used to work in glazing, I could set out a whole building, setting doors, we'd get someone else, it's a black art allright!

By the sounds of Johns thread it's a bugger, trouble is with tiv's, even easy jobs, you can have steam coming out your ears in frustration.... Just remember the experts have the same problems, a job you think will be 10 mins, allow an hour and you'll feel better! Tvr tax ..... Your paying for them to struggle there bks off!

Put an average mech on our cars it'll be bodged as bad as if i did it!

How do you tighten the two nuts in the door ? bloody impossible ! they are the nuts which attach to the door hinges.

Had another go today ,the top of the door is perfectly lined up at the top ,it seems like some of the door needs grinding back .

Dont think it ever fitted right ..furious

There all the same. Wrong. What I find dismaying is they all have it! If I see a Chim with two doors totally lined up I'll buy it. Lol.
