Question to 2008 - 2009 DBS owners
Discussion
Hello
My car has a strange engine noise at 3000 rpm when the temperature is warm, specially at 2nd - 3rd gear, like a ticking noise. . The official dealer says that this noise is normal for the first DBS series (the noise was recorded and analyzed by central factory). In the next models, this noise was fixed. But we don't have to be worried, they say, it is a "collector" resonance without importance.
I´d like to know if you notice a similar experience. My car is 4 years old, 2009 model (August 2008), but I bought it 3 months ago with only 3.000 km and It would say it is new.
Thanks

If collector means exhaust manifold? I am not aware of a part number change for DBS at the model year change over suggested???
That aside, the comments made by dealer seem to suggest factory know of the problem and have rectified it with new parts.
Simple then, complain to your dealer that the sound detracts from your enjoyment of the car, and free of charge to you under warranty, apply the corrective measures updated on newer models, to yours.
For what its worth, I don't believe the diagnosis. If this was true, then complaints would be widespread and there would be a well know and applied dealer service fix.

As I recommended in your other post, go back to the dealer and find out exactly what the fix is. If they can't or won't tell you, then it is probably just a story. If they do tell you what the fix is, then you can determine if it makes sense regarding correcting the noise.
My car doesn't make any such noise.
