Help please: Super Hotshot vs. Aero Avante, which & why?
Discussion
I've recently been hankering after an RC car - I had a mini collection (I seem to remember it including a Thunder Dragon?!) when I was a young lad in the late 80s/early 90s and fancy another to build (hopefully I'll be able to manage without my dad's help
). Basic idea is to get a 4wd buggy kit to build. Has to be electric really and for nostalgia reasons it should really be Tamiya
Having furiously been researching yesterday evening, it seems that I may have narrowed it down to the two choices above. HOWEVER, there appears to be a massive price discrepancy and oddly enough despite interweb research (I might be googling badly to be fair!) it's not exactly clear why. I understand that on the more expensive ones, components become alloy/CF etc, but a having searched quite hard I can't seem to find out exactly why an Aero Avante can be bought with all the bits for about £215 (http://www.modelsport.co.uk/tamiya-aero-avante-df02-/rc-car-products/370913) but a Super Hotshot comes in at about £360. For the record, The AA seems to come it at a similar price to several other similar Tamiya models (Dark Impact for example, and also the regular 2007 Hot Shot)
Can people explain why the SHS is so much more money than the others? I don't mind paying if it's better quality, buy cheap buy twice etc etc, but I'd like to know why exactly! Or should I just get a 2007 Hot Shot/Aero Avante/Dark Impact for less money and pick the prettiest out of those?
Thanks!
