Rear grill with LSD G50

The change mechanism at the rear of my gearbox has fouled and damaged the extruded rear grill. I'm told it's only a problem on cars with a LSD(?) I may look into producing a recessed black anodised aluminium cover with the words "GTR" machined in the back. Anybody else suffering the same problem interested?
