Savoury muffins

I made some with cheddar cheese, ham, onion and garlic this weekend as usual I didn't follow a recipe tending to make it up as I went along.

They were ok but missing something.
What are your best recipes?

No idea but I had some bloody amazing cheese cornbread style muffins in a local little diner type joint when I was stateside. Hopefully someone posts that kind of recipe. Hint hint.

They're not to my taste but I make these Feta, Herb & Olive Muffins for the GF and she wolfs them down. I used soya marinated pumpkin seeds to finish and I think that makes a great difference.

I'm drooling now thinking about bacon and maple muffins.
