Looks like a 3.8 GT3 had an off road excursion.

The photos are currently being plastered all over the Ricer bulletin boards with an undisguised plate.

Gone in backwards I guess due to the standing baby trees still, er standing.

It's odd though as there are no 'tram' lines marking his/her trajectory.

Hope car is without much damage

Zoom is my friend - think I can see the tram marks. Trajectory looks like he should have hit trees near front driver side. Wonder if he steered backwards away (left hand down)

We were out today on the South Wales Run and if this is the same car, we passed it earlier in the day when it was in convoy with a 996 Turbo a 997 Carrera, Ferrari 360 Spyder, Lotus Evora and a few others.

The conditions were shocking up on the Brecon Beacons with wind, rain, standing water and fog.

Hopefully the driver is OK, and that the car has minimal damage.

Fortunately it doesn't look too badly damaged or any reports of injured people.

Why does it need recovering? Is it just because its bogged down in the dirt?

It does like like you could drive it out. Worried about further damage maybe?

I've just read on the South Wales Forum that there was a silver 997 Turbo involved as well!

Having had a very similar accident in my 968 last year I know how quickly the pendulum effect takes hold when the rear tyres are floating and you become a passenger

I would have got away with a scrape and mild embarressment if another PHer had not had the same accident an hour earlier frown

Glad this one seems to have got away mildly thankfully

So then, Porsche say the GT3 MUST wear cup tyres that are very poor in the wet if you want to retain your warranty.

If you want to retain your life and use different tyres your warranty is invalid.

Nice!

Doesn't look badly damaged mind, if the issue is about tyres/wheels/warranty then why not just buy a 2nd set of rims with more general purpose tyres on them?

Not quite - but you do have to have N rated tyres on. For the 7.1 at least, the manual doesn't even mention tyre makes (Cup etc), just the sizes, which are the same as for a C4S.

The comments are nothing compared to some of the positively libellous tripe which appear in the Pork section on here smile

Glad it wasn't too serious by all accounts. These cars are tough old girls; it's probably fine once the cosmetics have been tidied up.

Ok, maybe that was overly dramatic, I'm just annoyed I can't put on Michelin Pilot Super Sports. frown
