Classic Marques Speed Challenge rounds 2&3 take place at the Gurston Down hillclimb (near Salisbury) this coming weekend. Loads of eligible British sports cars - see the full listing here: http://media.wix.com/ugd//fd72d2_e002d3db18e3f68d7...

If you love the sight and sound of cars, Gurston is a great place to spend a day or two - take a look here for details of this coming weekend: http://www.gurstondown.org/

If you have a old British sports car under the dust sheets somewhere, then Classic Marques could be for you. Full details here: http://www.classic-marques-speed-challenge.com/#

Excellent this is not a far run up the road for me. Might treat my Dad to a day out if the weather stays nice

ETA I see they're running bikes on the Sunday too! I'm definitely going now biggrin

Weather forecast for Gurston is set fair! Loads of British sports cars on the hill; what's not to like?

The goal this year for Classic Marques Speed Challenge is to collect data and make friends with sports car drivers. With 75 cars to map and time over the two days it's going to be a full weekend but the resultant database will be priceless.

This is what I'm aiming to do http://www.classic-marques-speed-challenge.com/#!u...

If you're going along to Gurston to take some pix, I'd love to use them on the gallery pages of the website. You can ping me on Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/ClassicMarquesSpeedChallen... or I'm on Twitter at https://twitter.com/@coxygoesvroom

Or, if you have a Brit sports car that you'd like to campaign, please download a set of regs from here http://www.classic-marques-speed-challenge.com/ and sign up!

Cheers
Steve

What is it like for parking motorbikes at gurston?

Is it a case of the same field as you would park a car or is there a separate area?

Thanks in advance

Same field as the cars park in, although bikers tend to park nearer to the gate where the ground is flatter.

I thought that might be the case.
Leaving it in gear is the plan if the flatter ground is taken then hehe

Cheers for the reply

Good morning all,

Please see link to the results from the Classic Marques Speed Challenge from Gurston Down last weekend. http://media.wix.com/ugd//fd72d2_eab9f117618e3f92a...

I am a huge fan of algorithmic handicapping and the results again show how well the system works thus enabling cars (especially classic sports cars) of different sizes, power, weight, and tyres to fairly compete with each other.

More info on the website if you'd like see, or download the entry form to come and join us. Link to website below.

Cheers
