Just scraped through the MOT but foglight isn't working. Bulb ok. Switch doesn't light.

What's the logical sequence and things to check?

Thanks.

Kieron.

Use a multimeter to check through wiring.

My favourite place to start would be at the lamp holder in the boot....just getting a bit cruddy on contacts, but worth testing for 12V here.

Else, it would be to go through and check fuse, switch...and I think there may be a connector behind B post cover (where seatbelt goes through).

Nick - Checked the bulb holder and nothing there. Fuse is ok as radio and interior lights are working. Steering column shroud is off but fog light switch is not easily accessible. Any suggestions about checking it before I dive in?

Thanks in advance.

Really really daft question, but presume headlights were on dipped when fog light tested?

Yep. Tried lights on/off etc. I suspect the switch because it's not illuminated (outer ring)so I'm trying to figure out how to test it.

Thanks.

OK Guys...I've got the dash out so I've got access to the rear of the fog light and light switch. I've removed the screws holding the switches in place but I'm not quite sure how they come out and I don't want to force them ?

Also, how do I check the switch when I get it out ? It isn't working because the outer ring wasn't illuminating and I couldn't access some the features on the dash.

Thanks.

Kieron.

Have you done any work in the pod as the ribbon cables can get caught and break? Are the connectors ok? Relay?

The switch on mine gets iffy if I haven't used it for a while. It sorts itself out if I press it on and off enough times. I'm guessing the contacts inside get furred.

No work done in the pod, the switch just stopped working. All the connections look good, where would I find the relay? How does the the switch come out from here?

Thanks.

Now I've released the circuit board from the back of the switches do I just prize it off or is there something else I need to undo? It's quite stiff and I don't want to force it.

Thanks.

FYI - There is a grub screw holding the main headlight switch onto to circuit board.
