New Airfield Venue

Motorsport Events have announced new venues for the track days and driver training. The first is Bassingbourn airfield in Hertfordshire. Famous for being the home of the Memphis Belle, B17 Flying Fortress Bomber during World War 2 it's set to become a hugely popular venue for all driving enthusiasts thanks to its proximity to London.

The circuit has been designed with flowing corners and lots of run off space. The inaugural event is on July 27th with further events planned throughout the year. Price is just £89 for unlimited track time. Instructors will be available on the day.

Motorsport Events is also offering a slightly different package with their driving academy. This is a day for all drivers to learn and perfect the principles of driving dynamics, performance driving and road craft. Price is just £139.

Awful website, as compared to bookatrack/easytrack. Have you registered? How many places are left? I've asked what the noise limits are.

!! All of the information is on their web site, but a little hard to find !

They had places left this morning when I phoned, but being a Saturday I imagine they will go quite quickly.

Providing the 520 is rebuilt in time, should be there to shake it down!

Email them for a place - I got a very polite and helpful reply from a guy called Edward - apparently there were 16 places going yesterday. Noise limits 103.

Shame I'm out of the country - looks like an interesting circuit and not far from me.
