Got the horn...
Discussion
Does anyone have any photos of the contact slip ring arrangement for the horn push on the Chim? I need to strip mine down as I think it's not making contact correctly and it'd be handy to know what to expect.
I'm sure I saw a spare part of a slip ring on Racing Green not too long ago but can't find it now...

How you decide to interpret my postings is more of an indication of your metal processes than mine ...

Just ordered that contact ring from RaceTech and also the pin and spring from Racing Green (along with some Targa seal and Window Channel felt) ... that's nearly £100 gone!

Fantastic! That's *EXACTLY* what I was after!I'm sure mine won't be knackered and worn but as my horn is so difficult to get going I thought I'd make sure I got all the bits it was possible that I'd need and work from there. (Let's face it - the chances of the old girl doing another 20 years and needing to have the same bits fixed again are, unlike me, pretty slim!)
Cheers

Nope but I now have my rattle gun!!!
Rattle gun
... or does that just get the nut off?... I have a puller for the boss if you need one

Of course I may wish this wasn't the case soon as after the horn I need to sort out my number plate lights and I don't think I can get the rattle gun in there to get the rusted screws undone.

(I have a puller somewhere too so the boss itself doesn't hold too many fears for me in as far as getting it off is concerned - thanks for the suggestion though - that's very kind.)
Good luck then... with your new toy
The puller I made pulls from the 6 threaded holes around the boss onto the central c/sink of the shaft.. this way it does not damage anything painted etc... I was going to use a 3 leg puller but the way mine was fitted and the amount of force required to pull it off would have meant damaging the boss

That sounds like quite a funky tool and a very good idea!

... you should know by know that the appropriate interpretation of the known man-laws mean that the last tool purchased *MUST* be applied as the first possible option to any and all subsequent jobs until such time as a new tool is purchased.
Oh s
t!!! Does this mean that I have to change my front shocks with this, the last tool I bought from B&q on Saturday?linky
