400SE Sun Visor Removal?
Discussion
Has anyone ever removed one of these visors? What's actually holding them? they don't look like screws and they don't look like rivets either. Do I drill them out or chisel them out? only I need to remove one of mine to replace it.
If anyone has the answer please let me know.

Hi
They are held on by two flat head screws that screw down through from above
Take out your roof section and gently pull back the rubber seal, the screw will be covered by silicon which you will need to dig out a little
Then just unscrew, or in my case grind off with a Dremmel as they were mainly rust!
Hope this helps

The Sun Visor are held in by screws in the screen header as you have found. You may find they have filler or silcone or even some form of mastic on top of the screws. The other end of the screws are nuts in the visior end fittings.
Just careful use a small screw drive or similar to clean out the holes in the header, then you should find the slot of the screw!

Thanks for the information gentlemen. I just didn't think of looking the other side of the screen. I shall tackle the job as soon as I get the car back from the spray shop. The drivers side visor is completely missing but the two attachments are still there. I managed to get a new set of visors but the screws inside the existing attachments looked a bit odd. Now I know what to do, I can get on with the job.
