Does anyone know which car the Elise rear calipers come from? I have Brembo style which have packed in (bodged job by PO Lotus Specialist). I have some new ones fitted on loan but need to replace them soon.
Surely they must be on another make of car?

Umm.. Some Esprit models use the same caliphers AFAIK

But I think you can get a calipher rebuild kit for a Renault Laguna (2.0 or bigger), which works on these caliphers too, except for some of the dust boots/rubbers.

Another option (of course) would be a Vauxhall dealer and getting some rear brakes from a VX220.. Identical..

Bye, Arno.

I don't need a rebuild kit as my old ones fell apart completely. I already ordered new pistons, sliding pins and seal kit only to find they were knackered.
Surely Lotus would not have had these made just for the Elise and Esprit. The Vauxhall came out much later. It must be off another car around 1996 era?
Any help will be appreciated?

BTW, are you saying the Renault Laguna has the same type of caliper? Does it fit?

I think you will find that the fronts are manufactured by AP Racing and the rears are Brembo parts. I think the rears find applications on a number of other vehicles.

Yes found them on a Laguna like the other guy suggested. Iam doing a 321mm big disc upgrade and wanted a spare set of calipers to give back to my Lotus Specialist.

Cheers,
