The twin Turbo grif on the classifieds....
Discussion
Yep - Martin is a top bloke & the car is an amazing tool.
Im sorry to see hes selling as it always creates a lot of interest whenever he comes out with us.
We were out the other day & I was giving my 5.0ltr Griff all I could on the straight - Martins Griff came up behind me as if I was in reverse!
I didnt realise he was serious about selling, but if you're interested hes a very approachable guy - give him a call.

4WD? How did he manage that? Bespoke chassis under a Griff body? I bet that car flies!
Paul.
I helped a bit with that. The engine was a stock 4.6 bottom end with 1964 buick 300ci aluminium 54cc cylinder heads which were ported and heat treated, slightly larger valves were fitted as well. The buick has huge ports as standard and much larger inlets plus will bolt straight on to the rv8. As for the transmision it was t5 based, I think a t9 box iirc. There was a pto on the drivers side with a shaft going to the front diff. The rear diff just had the usual propshaft.
Oh it used a single TO4E turbocharger mounted in front of the engine. They have really poor flow and another unit would have been better, no doubt that got changed later on.

so it wasnt a cossie then
It was a 4.6 crossbolted rover v8 engine with stock internals which came from Ray at V8D. I supplied the heads and a lot of techie info. Paul Goodenough?did the porting and another firm did the heat treatment to the valves and ports. The head work cost an absolute bundle. Iirc Mark Adams worked on the ecu and MAF. I never heard what happened to the car or if it made any dyno figures but it looked good and the body was done in kevlar as somebody took a nice mould from a griff. Back lights were from a fiat.

I guy my Dad traine dto be a mechanic did the install at Courtenay's. Talking to him he said it was too much for the road.
I've seen it run at Brighton and it is a very impressive tool. The only drawback seemed to be it's appetite for alternators although he was trying to get that resolved.
Awesome machine.

Sure it's the same car? Dave at Ollerton also did a lot of work on it as well and that's where the 4wd was done. I can't imagine Courtneys doing the work.

Done my research a little better this time and can confirm it doesn't seem to be the same car ......
However I don't imagine it's that different from the other which had very similar mods.

Boosted is talking about the 4WD turbo Griff, Johno is talking about the green 2WD one in the ads.
