Made this recently. Very nice and worth the effort.

In the states, we tried 'Sweet Baby Ray' - which was absolutely delicious. We brought some back with us, but as soon as we got back into the more savoury european food (if you've been there you'll know what I mean. Even their savoury food has an element of sweetness), it was too sweet. Stokes is best although ludicrously expensive (their tommy-k is great too), or plain old HP still is a winner.
Has to be Sonny's Sizzlin' Sweet. I usually bring a couple of bottles back from the States.

This is lovely, only place you could get it round here was Morrisons and they've stopped selling it now

Best BBQ sauce I've ever tasted though was a place called Yellow Dog Eats in Florida, their gold sauce is sublime.
Attempted to make a Carolina gold sauce once, followed an online recipe but it ended up eye wateringly vinegary.

We had pulled pork last night and it always needs a good splash of sauce to go with it. Now I have a surefire recipe I usually concoct from cupboard ingredients but I really couldn't be bothered, so thought I'd investigate the ready made options.
Haven't bought BBQ sauce for a long time, but tried these and I was surprised at the lack of crap ingredients and general quality of these two:

(reduced to £1 so had to try). Deep and smokey.

fruity and tangy.
My final sauce was a blend of the two plus a little extra heat from this:
