Hello Chaps,

I had a demo of the above recently and was pretty gobsmacked. Can't stretch to the bigger subwoofer (MT60??) unfortunately.

Wondered if anyone in the Industry would like to quote before I take the plunge? Would rather a fellow PH'er got the Business.

So.....

MT50 with white satellites and subwoofer
Floor stands in silver x 4 (I know, I know...pricey...but I have to due to room shape)
Decent/Suitable amp/CD player in Silver ideally (Onkyo?)up to £450. Need to be able to add-on for 6.1 or 7.1 later when we get a bigger Home.

Appreciate any input. Even alternative recommendations! smile

Thanks,

Ali

I've been using that system for a couple of years (M1 sats with the square sub).
Very happy with it.

I paired it with a Denon 1910 after doing a demo with that and an equivalent Onkyo. The movie performance was pretty similar but I preferred the Denon when playing music.

Not sure if you have to buy a package with a sub but if you can just buy the satellites, it may be worth looking at BK electronic subs. I have one (a Gemini 2) and it is fantastic and for about £200 - £250 great value for money. AVforums sometimes have secondhand ones for sale.

Search for 'Showrooming'. wink

Common practice these days: Have a demo then go off elsewhere and buy from somewhere that doesn't offer demos but is cheaper. Personally I don't agree with it, but people want the benefit of knowing they're buying the right thing and then to pay lowest price for it, so morals can't be allowed for. wink

On the bright side MT50s are only a small step up from an all in one system, so maybe not the most major deal for the shop, but it's all business. tongue out

Demo was set up already so it's not that he had much to do other than switch it all on. He was then sloppy with getting back to me with a total cost (I had to chase HIM!). It's the little things that can win or lose Business. It's my hard-earned money and I'll spend it where I see fit. tongue out
