Are you planning on using the 22 ple sealant?I've just applied Zymol concours wax to mine and the depth of shine is fantastic. It beads nicely too. Will be interested to see how an expensive wax compares to a sealant in the shine stakes. Note to the mods, please don't ban me, it wasn't me that posted this time.....
Yet to finally confirm, but yes. I used G--techniq EXO on both my V8 and our SLK 55. I have been impressed, but the depth of shine was not as good as a wax. I traded that, given Francis had made the surface as good as it was likely to get, in favour of the durability of the EXO. Internet research suggests things have moved on again in sealants so I think for me that is the way to go. I like Gtechniq products generally, but I guess each to his own. So I am debating 22ple or G-techniq EXO2 which is due shortly.

Time to do the deed on the V12. Francis did my V8 roadster last year and I was pleased with the results, so back down to Essex he comes next week, polishing machine in hand. Plan to use a new sealant as well. Anyone else in Essex whilst he is down, would save hIm a long journey!
So was it the ride up the road that convinced you to get a V12V Ian
@LD: 90% of the finish is achieved my machine polishing, the wax/sealant just adds the icing on the cake. If the paint is hazey or swirly, then it just won't look as good as it could be.
In answer your question, in terms of looks, I would say a high end wax has the edge, but a sealant look just as reflective and maybe even a tad sharper. If you like to wax your car every few months, then I would go for a wax, but a sealant is the best long term option. Anyway, you can put a ex over the sealant and have the best of both worlds.

I don't so much view it as road rash more as battle scars. If anyone is going to chase the car in front it is inevitable that your front end is going to suffer. Purdey now looks as though she has been fighting. I think the grill has come off worst, the alloy is so soft and I am not aware of a solution other than replacement . My idea is at the end of the year to consider having the front of the car painted. On the grill subject does anyone supply a black mesh grill as per AM's race cars? Would it look bad?

Your just above me in mileage, my grill has a few scars as well. The rest is great thanks to the ventureshield. When BR transplant Johnny 550 I'm going to get the grill, the meshes and the wheels powder coated.
It's much tougher than the thin paint AM have used on the grill.

To be fair the shield did a pretty good job and the bonnet isn't too bad. The sills at the back look a bit scabby though. Windscreen took the worst of it
