As usual a small show above Swansea Bay. Red arrows, Lancaster, Spitfire, that sort of thing. Personally, I love it as it is on the weekend of my birthday, opposite a pub and less than a mile from my house. Beer, fast loud things and no hassle parking. Makes for a pretty good weekend smile

Also, this chap is trying to get XH558 there too;

Anybody else going?

I'll be going as I have for the last few times it's been on, it's a great little show, be even better if the Vulcan is there!

Are there anywhere vantage points in the city nearby where you would be able to watch from ?
Parking can be a bloody nightmare

There are actually loads, the problem is getting to them early enough to park as you know. I generally watch it from the beach by the pub on the pond and park in derwen fawr. It's a short walk but it could be worse

Just took a spin past the airport. The Breitling wing walkers planes are there and the Red Star Rebels planes too.

Apologies for shoddy phone pics. Got as close as I could.

Do the aircraft fly along the coast? Any views from Aberavon beach in Port Talbot?

The display is above the beach by the cricket/rugby club. You could see it from there but it is a long way away to watch from. I would recommend park and ride from Fabian way to be honest.

Eta: Excellent display today, by the way. A lot better than previous years smile

Lanc just went over my house wheels down, way off the normal approach, but looks like it's staging at Bristol airport before Swansea & later Duxford...made my day seeing the lumbering beastie...

I remember the old airshows at Fairwood back in the 70's. BBMF used to park up there all weekend and I can still vividly remember a Vulcan doing a touch and go there.

Didn't Concord also make an appearance at Fairwood once? I also remember a big fuss being made over a 747 landing there. Or maybe I'm conjuring memories from my childhood of events that I wish had happened?

What happened to the plans for scheduled services operating out of Fairwood? And is there anything interesting still operating out of there? Sorry for the questions. Surrey based ex-pat checking in wink

I don't remember Concorde, and a 747 certainly wouldn't be able to land there in one piece.
There's been all sorts of small scheduled services out of Fairwood, but they never seem to last. I think the last was one between North and South Wales.
I think there's a Yak based there and there's been a Hunter parked on the pan for a few years now, not sure what's happening with that.

East Anglia based ex pat who grew up just across the common from Fairwood. smile
