Good morning people, my question for today is...i really want the audi conversion-my friend bought a skoda octavia vrs last weekend and after a quick test drive i realised how amazing the car and engine is!!!..

Problem is the cash!!...it appears the facts of life are:

Audi lump £7k...ah nuts.

I then started thinking, well perhaps 180-190 bhp is more than enough (trying to convince my self i know!!).

I then started looking around and appears:

to get 180-190 is gong to be around £4k in upgrades ie dva power etc...

bolt on bits may get me upto 170 ish (ptp etc..but still looking at over £3500...

then i started to think hay, what about a 190 vhpd engine ive seen them for around 2k to 3k...

so my question to you all is...is the vhpd engine still a valid option for me as a way to get 190 into my car....relatively cheaply...as i do fairly small mileage a year will it cause me a problem???as i have read the vhpd engines are perhaps "a tad" tempermental...

a sorted VHPD isnt *that* bad....rebuild times will be lower than most other options - maybe 20-40K miles depending on % of track to road use...thats not an issue if you only do say 10K miles per year though
