saw this and thought it might be of interest to the 2.8 owners on here.
potentially a pretty easy conversion to swap over, and then sell the donor on as a regular car.

I suspect that putting the Sierra back to standard will be a lot easier than fitting the turbos into the S - the standard Sierra exhaust bits etc should be available.
Fitting the Turbos into the S could be tricky - look in a Sierra engine bay - see all that space between the engine and the inner wings? That's where the turbos go.
Now look at the space between the same engine and the chassis in an S. See the problem?
You could extend the manifold and fit the turbos further forward, I suppose, but then you have a long exhaust tract to the turbo, and possibly longer inlet tracts as well - which if I understand correctly, is a recipe for massive epic turbo lag. Which, I would suggest, isn't what you want in a car like the S.
I'm not saying it's not possible. I doubt that it's a straight swap though.

i may well be wrong - but i believe thats correct on the 2.9 conversions which afaik were twins, but i thought the 2.8 was a single turbo conversion - so the turbo will be somewhere more forward and central.

And look at the list of other upgrades they made to the engine as well! It might be easier to swap the whole engine out, and then fabricate new exhausts and intakes.

We need a manifold adaptor a bit like that for the 12 ans 24 valve folks. Much better than an exhaust link pipe under the engine IMHO I assume the mechanical injection on the 2.8 compensates for you the 2.9 would likely need a chip or piggy back ecu to fuel correctly
For best results a lower comp engine is also required.

Will it fit.. I thought the v6 chassis was too narrow? Leaving v6 to v8 conversions only possible for magicians like Alan W?Happy to be wrong though..
