You beat me to it.
I just got an email from Shell about this.
Is it higher octane than the standard V power?
I may try a fill before a drag meet. More octane is good for the gas.
I have been trying mine on normal unleaded recently after swearing by V power for a few years.
i must say i think it runs better on the cheaper stuff

Unless you have your engine tuned to use a higher Octane rating fuel it won't make any difference.
Modern ECU's have knock sensors and can adjust ignition timing, on a performance car this can make a difference.
For my cars I use Tesco 99, Shell vMAX and cheap ASDA.
For my Lotus the manufacture recommends standard unleaded (95 RON). If I use 97 or 99 RON I get no improvement in performance or MPG. So runs on cheap ASDA.
My STI 340R this has to run on Super Unleaded, I mostly use Tesco 99 putting Shell vMAX I can't tell any difference.
My Chim 400 is supposed to run on Super unleaded, I am not sure why, I wouldn't say its highly tuned and uses a primitive ECU by today's standard. I used Tesco 99 it ran fine so I thought I would try ASDA unleaded. I can't tell the difference at all! Tested on the same roads.

sounds like a gimmick to me
the leaflet says 99 octane with 25% more 'friction modifiers'?? (apparently to reduce friction in critical engine areas??)
They sell friction modifiers at Anne Summers the leaflet says 99 octane with 25% more 'friction modifiers'?? (apparently to reduce friction in critical engine areas??)

Well played Chris

For my own part, I have found the Tesco 99 runs quite well, but for some reason V Power is always a bit better.
Probably just needed a good tune up

Mine is mapped for 95 Ron, or (at a flick of a switch) 110 Ron.
The 95 Ron stuff gives 260hp, & the 110 Ron stuff gives 261hp even though it's a bit thinner.
The 95 Ron stuff gives 28mpg on a run, the 110 Ron stuff gives the cost equivalent of 38mpg.
When you switch between the different types it's impossible to tell the difference.
Guess which stuff it runs on most?

they only added it to the Esso near me today, I'm going to try it tomorrow, no doubt I won't tell the difference though?
Cool, No doubt someone will be along next week to say, 'wow!, transformed my car it's ballistic!' or something similar. It's akin to the eighties when even razor blades were called 'turbo' and the latest cleaner called, 'turbo power'. Though, I've got serious doubts that some chassis can cope with smooth bore elbow + new spark plugs + nitro petrol

Apologies, miserable ole git here tired of modern world and all it's crap.
Did I just say that?
